SN2025gw: First IGWN Symposium on Core Collapse Supernova Gravitational Wave Theory and Detection, Warsaw, July 21-25, 2025
The LIGO-Virgo-KAGRA Collaboration invites the core-collapse supernova (CCSN) astronomy and astrophysics community for a 5-day Symposium on July 21-25, 2025, at the University of Warsaw, Poland. CCSNe are among the most violent explosions known to occur in the Universe, and the next Galactic or near extra-Galactic exploding massive star will be one of the most interesting, and most important, astronomical events of the century. This Symposium aims to bring CCSN experts together to address how to maximize the scientific potential of the first detection of core collapse supernova gravitational waves (GWs).
