Postdoctoral Researcher SRF Cavity Control for Axion and Gravitational Wave Searches at DESY Hamburg
DESY invites applications for a postdoctoral position in the SHOGWAVE and the SONAR projects, which uses superconducting radio-frequency (SRF) cavities to search for high-frequency gravitational waves. The postdoc will join the LLRF development team and help set up and further develop the project’s dedicated LLRF system, including carrier suppression interferometer (CSI) techniques and their integration into it. The position combines independent research with student supervision on cryogenic low-noise RF components such as oscillators, multipliers, mixers, filters, switches, amplifiers, attenuators and phase shifters. The work spans electronic design, prototype development, system characterization and concept evaluation.
