Update: application now open HERE (Closing: Jan 5, 2025, at 23:55 AEDT)
Postdoc position in a friendly, motivated team, working on gravitational wave astrophysics, incorporating the latest theoretical development and data analysis techniques. This position is within the ANU Centre for Gravitational Astrophysics (CGA), a joint facility of the Research School of Astronomy and Astrophysics and the Research School of Physics. CGA undertakes a world-leading role for Australia in the science and technology of gravitational wave discoveries and is the ANU node of the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Gravitational Wave Discovery (OzGrav). The candidates will be able to collaborate closely with all OzGrav nodes and spend up to 50% of their time on self-directed research.
We are looking for an early career academic with experience in gravitational wave data processing and dataanalysis. Expertise in any of the following the fields is desirable:
- Theory (e.g., general relativity, modified theories of gravity, numerical relativity, etc.)
- Gravitational-wave data analysis (e.g., parameter estimation, population analyses, etc.)
We are looking for candidates who like challenging problems and works well within a diverse team.
We are now accepting expressions of interest and inquiries before the application procedure officially starts. We anticipate advertising the position in mid-November 2024 with a closing date for applications in early-January 2025.
