Assistant Professor of Practice at University of Arizona
The University of Arizona (UA) Physics Department invites applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor of Practice (Teaching Faculty) starting in Spring or Fall 2026. The expected teaching load is two to three courses per semester (with a maximum of five per year), and salary will be commensurate with experience. We are looking for candidates who can motivate and inspire students using active learning and evidence-based approaches in the classroom. While teaching introductory physics will be the primary focus, the ability to teach upper-division courses in a variety of fields will be considered an advantage. The department takes pride in its collaborative teaching innovations, including grad discussion leaders, undergrad preceptors, and a dedicated space for workshop-style service courses. Application reviews will begin on Sept. 15, 2025.
