Postdoctoral Fellowships in Gravitational Waves and Compact Objects at UC San Diego
UC San Diego invites applications for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Gravitational Waves and Compact Objects in the Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics. Successful candidates will conduct independent and collaborative research under the guidance of professors Floor Broekgaarden and Kyle Kremer. We welcome applicants with a range of expertise in both theory and observations, and anticipate hiring at least one position. We are especially interested in experts in gravitational waves (LIGO, LISA, and 3rd-generation detectors), multi-messenger astrophysics, massive (binary) star evolution, stellar dynamics, machine learning, database (or data hub) development, AI, hydrodynamic simulations, high-energy transients, (massive) star formation history modeling and (r-process) enrichment processes, JWST, and/or observational searches for compact object binaries (e.g. Gaia). Application Deadline December 6th 2024.
